Abacus Day Nursery was acquired by the present owner in December 2012 and a programme of refurbishment and improvement began immediately. below are details of the significant changes that will be occuring in the future:

Replace former 2nd floor toilets with a sensory room Specifically aimed at younger children and those with special needs but will be used by all children and can also be used as a meeting/parents room June 2013
Compete refurbishment of ground floor childrens toilets To improve hygiene standards and accessibility January 2014
Refurbish outside play area To provide a safe and secure environment for staff and children to enable them to develop appropriately. August 2013
Replace front windows and main entrance door with double glazed units with openable windows at the top To reduce energy usage and condensation within the building and increase natural ventilation to the ground floor as well as providing a more welcoming and attractive entrance. Planning permission granted September 2013. Work to commence summer 2014 November 2014
